I love crockpot dinners because I can quickly dump everything in before I leave for work in the morning and then it’s ready to eat when we get home. This is especially nice when my husband and I get home at different times so we can each eat when we’re ready #collegelife.
However, my husband loves this recipe so much that he’ll sometimes eat all of it before I get home LOL.
This crockpot Italian chicken recipe is full of flavor and only takes a few simple ingredients that we keep on hand.
It also makes fantastic leftovers! I typically cut the chicken up and throw it in a salad for lunch the next day.
You could also serve this Italian chicken over rice or pasta if you want to add some extra carbs to your meal.
How To Make Crockpot Italian Chicken
Again, this recipe is super easy.
Start by cutting your butter into 8 slices and add them to the bottom of your crockpot.
Then place up to 4 chicken breasts on top. You can use fresh or frozen. I typically use just two breasts for the two of us. You can use up to 4 if you have a larger family or want more leftovers.
Then pour lemon juice and chicken broth over the chicken.
Sprinkle a packet of Italian Dressing Mix over the chicken. This is the dressing mix we use, we get it at Walmart or Smiths.
Then add some minced garlic to your crockpot.
Cook on High for 4-5 hours or Low for 6-8.
Then you can serve it with rice or pasta or with some veggies. We really like making some garlic butter zucchini to go with our Italian chicken.
My Favorite Crockpot
I’m super picky with my crockpot. I searched high and low for a crockpot that would allow me to program a specific cook time and automatically switch to warm so I didn’t have to worry about switching it myself. Both my husband and I work full time so I like that I can set my crockpot to cook for 6 hours and then stay on warm until we’re ready. Here’s the link to the one we have if you have the same needs.
