Apple Cider Vinegar And Honey
Apple cider vinegar can be really effective in preventing acid reflux. The best way to take it is to mix about a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm honey with about a tablespoon of honey. I don’t recommend trying this for the first time during a flare-up. It can aggravate a flare-up but if you take it regularly in the morning for a few weeks it can be really helpful in preventing acid reflux.
Aloe Vera Juice
Aloe vera juice can be really soothing during a flare-up. It’s really cooling and provides instant relief from heartburn and it can help get rid of your acid reflux in the long term. You can usually find aloe vera juice in the produce section at your grocery store or on Amazon
Herbal Tea
A variety of herbal teas can be helpful in relieving acid reflux symptoms. My go-to’s are chamomile, slippery elm, ginger, or licorice. This throat coat tea can also be really soothing.
Coconut Water
Coconut water is an easy drink to grab when you’re looking for relief. It’s not as soothing as aloe vera juice but is easier to find and you may prefer the flavor.
Cold Milk
Some people find that cold milk (dairy or plant-based) is soothing to their acid reflux. I would not recommend dairy milk as that tends to be a common trigger food for acid reflux.
Smoothies
