This casserole is one of my ultimate favorites! It comes together so easily and is great to prep and store in the freezer for an easy dinner later in the week.
With just a few ingredients that we typically keep on hand, it’s a no-brainer.
This casserole is packed with protein. We use whole wheat pasta for added fiber. Make it gluten-free by using gluten-free noodles.
How To Make Chicken Parmesan Pasta Casserole
Start by cooking your chicken. You can either buy a rotisserie chicken or cook chicken breasts.
My favorite way to cook chicken breasts is in my sous vide. This ensures I get juicy chicken every time and all I have to do is set it and forget it!
While your chicken is cooking start cooking pasta according to its package.
Preheat your oven to 350 F.
When your chicken and pasta are ready mix them together and add marinara sauce or spaghetti sauce (this is our ultimate favorite sauce!), cheese, and Italian seasoning.
Pour the mixture into a 9×13 dish and top with the rest of your cheese.
Then melt butter and mix in panko bread crumbs.
Sprinkle the panko mixture over the top of your dish.
Bake uncovered for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Make It A Freezer Meal
If you want to prep this chicken parmesan pasta casserole ahead of time prepare it in a freezer-safe pan. Prepare it in the same way up to the point of baking.
Then cover your pan and store in the freezer.
When you’re ready to cook it bake it at 350 F for 20-30 minutes until it’s cooked through and golden brown.
