Acid Reflux Friendly Dinners
The original recipes may use either garlic and onion in fresh or powdered form but I recommend excluding those unless you know for sure that they won’t aggregate your acid reflux.
- Chicken, Potatoes and Veggies
- A really simple dish you can make is chicken with potatoes and veggies. You can buy a whole seasoned rotisserie chicken or grill chicken with your preferred spices. Then just roast some baby potatoes with some carrots, zucchini, or whatever vegetable you like.
- Fish and Veggies
- Fish and veggies is another simple dish that comes together really easily. I prefer to cook my fish in a sous vide so it comes out perfectly cooked without me worrying about it and it doesn’t stink up my whole home. I’ll season my fish with some lemon pepper and roast or steam some broccoli to go with it. You can also make some rice to round the meal out further.
- Bone Broth
- Bone broth is amazing for your gut and can help heal your body during your transition off of antacids. It’s really simple to make too. Check out this recipe I use to make mine.
- Chickpeas, Roasted Veggies and Rice
- This meal is super easy to make and really filling. I typically prep it as lunch but it’s also a great dinner. I just take a bag of frozen roasting vegetables with cauliflower, brussell sprouts, and sweet potatoes (you can use your preferred veggies) and pour it in a bowl with a can of chickpeas. Then I add some olive oil and my preferred seasoning (usually lemon pepper) and roast it all together according to the package instructions. Then I make some wild rice (you could use white or brown rice) to go with it. I’ll also bake some brazilian cheese breads (gluten-free and SO yummy) as a little treat! I squeeze some lemon on top but if you skip that if that triggers your acid reflux.
- Italian Chicken
- This easy crockpot recipe is so easy to throw together and so yummy! Add some pasta or vegetables to the side. The original recipe calls for garlic so be sure to exclude that if it tends to bother you.
- Buttered Noodles
- Looking for some comfort food? Buttered Noodles are so easy to make and can be made with regular butter so it doesn’t aggravate your symptoms. You can use whole wheat noodles and even add some spinach to it as well.
- Baked Potato
- Baked potatoes are a filling meal and your family can customize them to their own tastes. Top with broccoli and a little cheese if it doesn’t aggravate your acid reflux. Be careful with the sour cream and bacon.
