I’ve become a big fan of berry based salads over the past few years.
Currently my go-to salad is this Market Berry Salad.
I’ve been using store bought salad dressings but I’m wanting to be more conscious of the ingredients I’m consuming and cut down on sugars. So I started making my own dressings.
I tried a bunch of recipes before I finally concocted one that had enough flavor but wasn’t overpowered by vinegar or olive oil.
I make this recipe every few weeks and store it in the cutest little syrup bottle that I recycled.
This vinaigrette comes together in just a few minutes with a bit of before hand prep. Here is how I make it!
How To Make Strawberry Infused Vinegar
I keep a bottle of strawberry infused vinegar in my pantry for this recipe.
I buy strawberries nearly every week for my Market Berry Salad. When I prep the berries for the week I’ll save the tops and put them in a glass jar.
Then I fill the jar up with apple cider vinegar.
I let it sit for a week or so. Then I drain the vinegar into a new clean jar and dispose the strawberries.
One bottle of strawberry infused vinegar lasts me a while so I don’t have to do this every week.
I just keep the jar in the pantry for when I need to make more salad dressing.
If you don’t want to wait to infuse the vinegar before making this recipe you can just use plain apple cider vinegar.
How To Make Strawberry Vinaigrette
This is literally so easy, just add your strawberries and everything else except olive oil.
Blend with a high-speed blender. I like using my magic bullet because it’s powerful and holds just enough for my dressing jar.
After it’s blended add the olive oil and give it another quick blend.
Store in the fridge is a glass jar or an empty and cleaned out salad dressing bottle.
Before using give it a quick shake.
Strawberry Vinaigrette
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup Roughly Chopped Strawberries
- 3 tbsp Strawberry Infused Apple Cider Vinegar Or regular apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/3 cup Olive Oil
Instructions
- Add everything but the olive oil to a high speed blender. Mix together.
- Add in the olive oil and mix.
- Store in a glass container.
